MF Grimm came out in 1993 as a hardcore/punchline mc (a la Big L) calling himself Grimm Reaper with "So what you want nigga?" -- a rough beat laced with tough raps (I give him bonus points for cutting up Milk D's famous challenge "step up if you wanna get hurt" from "Top Billin".) He also appeared as the Grimm Reaper on Kurious' Constipated Monkey LP.

He didn't release another 12" for the next four years, opting instead for cameos with KMD and Kool G Rap. The end of the last millenium saw the return of MF Grimm on the Fondle Em and Dolo labels with "Bloody Love Letter"/"Do it for the kids," "Get Down"/"Emotions"/"International Rules" and "Landslide remix"/"Tick Tick". Most of this work is self-produced, with the prominent exception of "Tick Tick" where MF Doom feeds Grimm a dark and moody beat that refuses to keep any one tempo. "Slow it up, speed it up, speed it up, slow it up, Metal Fingaz feeds beats, Grimm Reaper eat it up." Grimm has a 12" in the works on Brick records. There is talk of a full length with MF Doom.
